SOLD: Bare Buck Wood £125,000 Freehold

  • Barham, Ipswich, Suffolk
  • about 8 ⅔ rd acres
  • East Anglia

Description

Bare Buck Wood is an amazing woodland offering both young and mature areas of trees set in a rolling park-like setting.

The various areas of woodland that make up Bare Buck Wood offer wide diversity. Starting from the north on level ground you will find large oaks, cherry trees, mature ash as well as large pines. Moving south there are wide open areas with patches of bramble. The resident fallow and muntjac deer seem to love this area and are frequently seen here. Yet further south a bank drops away to the eastern boundary.

If you are quiet and keep still whilst sitting at the top of this bank you can rewarded with sightings of fallow deer as they meander along this bank. A large area of laurel offers excellent cover for both deer and the wildlife watcher. An old dilapidated wildlife tower stands just above the bank, previous owners realised this was a great place to sit and watch.

Due to the nature of the woodland it has a wonderful open feel. The trees have space and you can really see the beauty of the old oaks as the have been allowed to spread out to their full potential. There are plenty of places to camp and the woodland is large enough to offer both seclusion and privacy.

A haven for wildlife, fallow deer and muntjac deer are seen on a regular basis along with pheasants, woodcock, foxes, rabbits, buzzards to name a few. Sporting rights are included.

Named after a distinctive large fallow buck that is often seen standing on the bank, this wood offers an owner so many opportunities. Fallow deer are thought to have been wild in Suffolk for nearly a thousand years.

The woodland is only five miles north from the town of Ipswich and a short distance from both the A12 and A14 however feels very rural and offers a perfect countryside retreat.

Particulars and plans were prepared by our local manager, Matt Marples

The purchasers of the meadow will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
