## Description

This is a lovely small woodland close to the charming harbour town of Stonehaven, within conveneient reach of the A90.

Netherley Wood nestles into the landscape, which in turn is quite wooded, with the approach road unusually having a lovely feel to it too. This would originally have been scrubland but is maturing very nicely indeed with some fine specimen trees. Alongside the diverse tree species, there are also plenty of open areas that could be planted, such as with a forest orchard, or used for some small scale cultivation. The all important sunlight reaches the woodland floor.

This woodland could very well suit the creation of a forest garden, alternative as it is a stand alone wood, it could perhaps suit someone wanting to set up a forest school: the possibilities are endless.

The Burn of Monquich skirts the northern boundary providing a good source of water for humans and animals alike; running water is a tremendous asset to any woodland and always creates a peaceful atmosphere within a woodland; this is no exception. The woodland is very easy to traverse and is fairly flat The whole area is incredibly peaceful and would make a great escape from a busy modern life.
