Situated just a few hundred metres back from the rugged coastline of the St Davids headland, Temple Meadow is a charming coastal meadow with breath-taking views out across St Brides bay and beyond. The dramatic cliffs, punctuated by inlets and shores, make the Pembrokeshire coast one of the most renowned beauty spots of the UK. Sitting right in the heart of this inspiring landscape, Temple Meadow offers the chance to undertake a conservation project and leave a legacy for future generations to enjoy.

The meadow is a blank canvas which could be shaped by a new owner to suit their needs, be that with sections of wildflower meadow or open rides and glades amongst newly planted woodland. Certain species will fare better than others in coastal locations, and this should be considered when devising a planting plan, which could be done in partnership with professional consultants if so desired. Hardier species such as Hawthorn, Sycamore and Juniper would be suitable candidates, and could provide shelter at the perimeter of the meadow for other species such as oaks or pines. The meadow is bordered on all sides by traditional Pembrokeshire banks, populated by hedgerow species, which already provide a degree of shelter from the elements. The banks also offer excellent privacy from neighbouring land.

The meadow has had prior agricultural use and is currently down to grass, having been cut for hay in recent years. In terms of topography, it is almost entirely flat, with only a very gentle gradient dropping towards the coast. The land is accessed via an excellent track which leads off a public highway, along which a full right of way will be granted at all times, with and without vehicles.

The meadow would be well suited to those who are conservation minded and enjoy the great outdoors. As well as being so close to the coastal path, Temple Meadow is a just a short hop from a number of attractive beaches including Newgale and Whitesands Bay. The meadow is perfect as a base to adventure from and explore the dramatic landscapes amongst which is sits. It is also a sanctuary; a haven to which one can retreat to in order to escape the rigours of normal life, and be at peace in the privacy of your own outdoor space.

In terms of finding the meadow, when heading along the A487 from Solva towards St Davids, look out for a turning on your left signed posted to ‘Trelerw’ and leave the main road here. There is also a “planting land for sale” sign on the verge next to the turning. This turning is located in between the hamlet of Nine Wells and the Texaco garage on the outskirts of St Davids. After turning, follow this smaller road for roughly 250m and the entrance gate will be on your left hand side, marked by another sign. Please park here and climb the gate. Looking slightly to your right and follow the access track which runs diagonally across a small field and then along the left hand side of a much larger field. Turn 90 degrees to your left at the bottom and follow the track for a further 200m, at which point the entrance to Temple Meadow in a gap in the bank will be on your left hand side. The purchasers of the meadow will be asked to enter into a covenant to ensure the quiet and peaceful enjoyment of adjoining woodlands and meadows.
