The Knighton Tree Allotments Trust has been registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee. It is a not-for-profit Trust that will create woodland allotments for local people living in and around Knighton to provide for their present day needs of fuel, fruit, nuts and timber as well as maintaining a sustainable and healthy ecosystem that will ensure a viable forest for future generations to enjoy. The Trust will buy or lease land within 5 miles of Knighton and provide the training and support needed to enable local people to manage their tree allotments in a safe, productive and sustainable manner. These people will thus be able to grow for themselves some of their fuel and food needs as well as reducing their carbon footprints. At the same time they will be able to join co-operatively with other local people to enjoy, conserve and enrich their local environment.Contact
