Beavers and Trees

By woodlandstv

Slow connection? Watch in lower quality

We return to the Bamff Estate to see some sculptural examples of how the beavers have affected trees on the Estate, and what to do if you don't want your trees to be nibbled by beavers.

A film for WoodlandsTV by Jemma Cholawo.

it is only by bringing the beaver back that we realise just how important they are. We need to think about reintroducing all our lost keystone species.

Incredible species. Im very lucky to have seen what a difference they have made for the wetlands on the river otter in devon.

If anyone hasn't read or heard of Peter Wohlleben's book (The Hidden Life of Trees), you can find it at https://www.amazon.com/Hidden-Life-Trees-Communicate-Discoveries-ebook/dp/B01BEEXEAI

Nuisance animal. Local parks have added fencing to the base of trees. The banks of the rivers wash out more and fill the streams to where they are impassible.

They cut the trees down to dam the rivers and flood the lands and they also want the little fresh shoots from the tree. they are at the top so, down it comes..they can be a real pest.

I never comment on videos but can not contain my sudden contempt for this channel after the music some wholly decided to play during what could have been a thoroughly enjoyed film.
