It's like buying a grand house and then subdividing it into little granny flats… great for the individual owners but not doing much for the integrity of the building as a whole. Our richest woodlands have a coherence and continuity of management which you just don't get with multiple ownerships that change hands frequently where there is no long-term vision. Having said that, it can only be positive for unmanaged neglected woods.
